Every seventeen minutes, someone in the United States dies from pancreatic cancer. It is the 4th leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Approximately 32,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year alone.

Despite these statistics, pancreatic cancer receives the least amount of research funding from the federal government of all major cancers. PanCAN was founded in 1999 to change this.

PanCAN funds awards for pancreatic cancer research, provides one-on-one guidance and resources for patients, families and health professionals, educates federal policy makers and raises awareness in the general public about the disease.
